====== Resetting Trusted Platform Module (TPM) ====== ===== Prerequisites ===== - UEFI install of Windows \\ How to check - Run **msinfo32** - Look for entry called "BIOS Mode". Should be a 14th line from the top. \\ {{:laptopwiki:guides:tweaking:msinfo_biosmode.png?400|}} - If you don't see "BIOS Mode UEFI" you will need to reinstall using UEFI mode. If you do have UEFI mode, continue below. Warning: if you have bitlocker enabled, you need to disable it before proceeding, unless you like losing all your data. if you don't know what bitlocker is, you don't have it. ===== Resetting ===== - Press Win+R to open the Windows Run dialog - Type **tpm.msc** and press Enter - If this opens normally, you should be able to clear the TPM and reboot and be done.
