Upgrading Windows Home to Windows Pro without reinstalling

If you want to upgrade your Windows Home (Win10 and Win11) to Windows Pro without reinstalling, this is how you do it.
This method will NOT give you free Windows Pro, you still need a legitimate key to activate it. (if you are upgrading from Home)

• Internet connection
• Product key for the version you want to upgrade to
• Windows 10 Home or Windows 11 Home (might work on Windows 8.1 but that is EOL today, please don't use it)

• Microsoft provides what's called an upgrade key, that will change your version without the need for reinstall.
• They do not activate Windows themselves. You still need a Windows 10 Professional license!!

1. Windows Settings
2. About
3. Change Product Key
4. Disconnect from the internet
5. Enter key “VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T”
6. Reboot. This will take 5-10 minutes, you should see “Adding features” when it's shutting down.
7. Reconnect internet
8. Use your legitimate Windows Pro key
9. Enjoy!
