Change Time Zone on Windows Server 2012 - 2022

  1. Even if you are a member of .\Administrators group, trying to change timezone on Windows Server in Control Panel will give you error
  2. Windows Settings will allow you to select the timezone, but that setting will get reverted when you close Settings.
  3. If you want to do it the GUI way, there is a workaround.
    1. Open `timedate.cpl` as Administrator
    2. Now you can change your timezone
